Nazi gold train could contain ornate £250m 'Amber Room' given by Tsar Peter the Great to the King of Prussia - and missing since it was looted during WWII The room, crafted out of amber, gold and precious jewels, was stolen from a Russian palace just outside St Petersburg in 1941, and taken to a Nazi-held castle in what was then East Prussia.
